(for Señora)) How might we stay in touch during this collaborative time?

(for the students) How might we learn and use the Cricut as a group? How could we structure our time so that everyone has a chance to be a part of the making process on the Cricut machine? Everyone will need to create a flag for Spanish class.

Student effort is observed as they explore  Design Space and the multiple graphic tools to design and create a flag to express meaning.

Students will curate a list of favorite settings in children’s literature and collaboratively create signposts exploring new tools on the Cricut Machine & with light wood working.

Identifying a need for library signage and to re-introduce the kids to the space they’ve missed for a whole year!

Students will curate a list of favorite settings in children’s literature and collaboratively create signposts exploring new tools on the Cricut Machine & with light wood working.

The signs relate to specific books and will begin communications with and between students to engage and inspire readers.

Project 1 Moonshot idea:

If we had many Cricuts, and endless rolls of special papers, vinyl, iron-ons, leather, balsa wood, etc. students could branch out into a local or etsy-type business. There are many products that could be created including greeting cards, signs, T-shirts, jewelry, personalized glassware, dog clothes, personalized logos and other products (cannot think of any more at this time). If there was a community liaison or business expert, they would help the students to collaborate with local restaurants, shops or other businesses in the community and begin to learn how to run a profitable business.

A social media person would show us how to optimize our newly created website (one that we created with the help of a web designer). Along the way we took lots of notes and video so that we could write and publish (with our publishing friend) a book on our Cricut adventure - a book for kids. Maybe it will make the Red Clover list - or even win the Caldecott. We have several expert authors and illustrators on board to coach us along.

An app could be made so that the Cricut would work with Chromebooks. Our app developer would show us how to do that. The Google empire would love us. Yay! More profits are coming in. Are we an LLC or a non-profit or a ??. No worries - the expert lawyers and accountants have that covered.

Maybe with all of those profits, we could travel to a far-away island, clean up the white sandy beaches (our Caring for Beaches Cricut Campaign) and sip Shirley Temple cocktails under the setting sun. We sure would need a rest after a year of Cricuting and Entrepreneuring.

Wouldn’t it be fun to create a cricket(insect) robot that could be a TV spokesperson for us?

Hmmm - along the way our people would need to talk with the Cricut people.

Project 2 Moonshot idea:

• Extra staff on hand to support students using Design Space, with one adult on the Cricut machine to support and supervise  in order to limit waste of resources.
• Ways to share designs in a queue so students can create, and the staff can print them out at a later time.  Similar to a restaurant waiting beeper system, students can come to see their object printing when their device alerts them, which would [of course] be widely acceptable by teachers to let them go.
• Use the Cricut to create products for sale to fundraise for the school or library so we can have the furniture we need in this new space, more tools in the makerspace and perhaps hire a dedicated engineer to teach all students and staff in the makerspace.
• Really Big Thinking -  I want to own a Cricut to design for my home, crafts and gifts that I aspire to do.  That means that this would come with the necessary time to return to crafting, which I haven’t had time for in at least a decade.  After using the Cricut Maker --it would be difficult for me to purchase anything smaller in their line.
• Place quotes in vinyl all over the school, on doors, walls, restroom stalls, everywhere to inspire the community of our school.
